FLOWER

Facilitating Learning and Women’s Empowerment in Pollinator Regeneration

Project Years: 2024-2025

What is FLOWER?

FLOWER is an Erasmus+ funded project designed to empower young women* in biodiversity regeneration, with a special focus on pollinators. The project fosters systems thinking skills, creative expression, and community-building to strengthen women’s voices in environmental action.

Core Responsibilities and Actions

Pollinator Ambassadors, as the coordinating organisation, is responsible for:

  • Learning Design of the Training
  • Project Coordination
  • Training Facilitation
  • Participant Curation and Management
  • Artwork Curation and Exhibition Planning

First Activity: Training

In November 2024, we successfully hosted the first phase of FLOWER: a three-day training program in Greece, where 20 participants from Austria and Greece explored pollinator regeneration through workshops, a deep engagement with the host, ReGreen, and the final creation of zines, an activist form of artwork. Together, we built a strong network of changemakers dedicated to restoring biodiversity.

But FLOWER doesn’t end here

A spin-off, 1-day pollinator zine making workshop and exhibition will be organised in May 2025 in Cambridge, UK.

Online Exhibition coming soon

The second phase of the project is coming soon: an educational publication and an online exhibition showcasing the works created during the training. Stay tuned for the launch!

Coming Soon: Online Exhibition & Educational Resources

The next phase of FLOWER will bring the project’s key learnings to a wider audience. The upcoming online exhibition will feature stories, visuals, and creative outputs from the training, while the educational publication will serve as a resource for those passionate about pollinator regeneration.

What Participants Shared

"Only few people have the skill to make complex systemic issues such as biodiversity loss easily understandable - Nadine and Nijnke master this skill. And the 3 days training course had it all: an inspiring location regreen making biodiversity efforts tangible, scientific information explained through systemic analysis and finally, and this is at the core of pollinator ambassadors: communicating science through artistic expression. Through the training I created strong bonds with participants from interdisciplinary fields (from scientists, to policy makers, to lawyer, to social entrepreneurs, to artists). I wish trainings like this would be accessible to all young people and adults who are looking to plant seeds of hope. the training equips you with all skills necessary."
